Jump rope is widely considered the most efficient cardio workout around – burning twice as many calories as running, but a total body workout with less shock to your joints. Even a recreational jump rope set typically goes into the hundreds or thousands of reps, making it very difficult to keep an accurate count. It’s also difficult to track your progress to evaluate whether you’re improving over time. Jump rope can also get monotonous as a solitary, repetitive activity. We set out to evolve this classic cardio workout with SmartRope PURE.
Magnetic sensors are attached to the ball bearings in SmartRope PURE. When the sensors detect a full 360 degree revolution of the rope around the handle, it’s tracked as 1 complete jump. The workout mechanics of jumping rope create the data, so it’s much more accurate than the generic motion sensors in a wrist tracker or in your smartphone.
SmartRope PURE tracks your workout data with or without your smartphone, but you’ll need to pair with the SmartRope mobile app to see your jump count and other relevant data. SmartRope PURE features one-time sync, enabling you to do up to 100 sets of exercise and store your workout data in the rope’s memory without a smartphone. Later, when you sync with SmartRope, all of your past workout data will be made available on the app. (We definite 1 “set” as the workout data tracked while SmartRope PURE is powered on).
Turn off all other SmartRopes except for the one you want to connect to. Then go to Device Settings > Connection > Find Device. SmartRope will connect to the SmartRope PURE that has its power on.
Yes. Various jump rope techniques are possible with SmartRope PURE.
While SmartRope PURE has many of the same design features and is still a connected device that pairs with the SmartRope mobile app, SmartRope PURE does not feature the LED display of the original SmartRope. SmartRope PURE was created in response to users who were looking for a more traditional jump rope experience, but still made smarter.
Yes, the length of SmartRope PURE can be adjusted to your height and preferred jump stance. For more information, please check the user manual.
SmartRope PURE is specifically designed to be ergonomic and provide a comfortable grip while you’re working out. The handles are sweat-resistant and slippage shouldn’t be an issue during intense workouts.
No. SmartRope PURE is not compatible with Soft Grip.
SmartRope PURE is powered by a high-quality lithium polymer battery, charged via micro-USB cable (the same cable that charges most smartphones, as well as other portable devices). Charge SmartRope PURE with your smartphone charger, or plug it into any powered USB port on your computer.
SmartRope PURE’s battery lasts for approximately 45 hours of active use, or over a month and a half of regular use. SmartRope PURE fully charges in 2 hours over a standard smartphone charger or powered USB port.
Unfortunately, most of the heart rate monitoring technology featured in fitness products face significant accuracy issues. In most major studies, all of the wearables on the market today do not accurately track heart rate. In fact, most wearables can’t even track heart rate during activity – only at rest, which isn’t very useful for a jump rope.
The power button at the base of one of the handles controls SmartRope PURE. Lifting open the rubber cap reveals the micro-USB charging port. This power button glows different colors to indicate the status of SmartRope PURE:

Yes, SmartRope will pair to different SmartRope PURES. However, due to the limitation of Bluetooth, only one SmartRope PURE can be paired at a time
Your exercise data recorded in SmartRope is not dependent on which SmartRope you workout with but is dependent on the account you are logged in with at the moment of workout. For example, if you are logged in on SmartRope under one single account and workout with both SmartRope PURE and SmartRope (LED), your exercise data will be recorded under one account.
To change your daily goal, go to Settings > Personal Info > Daily Goal (Jumps), and scroll to your desired number of jumps.
You will be notified of new versions of SmartRope PURE's firmware via pop-up messages in SmartRope. Go to Device Settings > Firmware, and a red 'N' should appear next to outdated firmware. Click on the 'N' to install the new firmware.
